Shibli Faraz addresses his maiden press conference on Labor Day

The federal minister for information Shibli Faraz addressed his first press conference since taking charge of the ministry, in Islamabad on Labor Day. He stated that the homeland is facing an unparalleled challenge in the form of COVID-19 and crisis cannot be averted until everyone acts responsibly.
He apprised the media of the fact that government will consult all the federating units on the repercussions of the pandemic. He further stated that the country cannot afford a complete lockdown due to daily wagers and laborers and because of this very much reason, a smart lockdown has been devised by the government to lessen the impact of economic crisis for daily wagers.

He also declared that the reigning government is the first one to launch programs for the welfare of the labor class. Mega Ehsas Emergency Cash Program was launched to aid the laborers and Rs.12000 were distributed amongst them. In addition to this, Panagahs and Sehat cards have also been introduced for the wellbeing and security of the labor class.
The federal minister also mentioned that construction work has been allowed to resume to help the laborers earn daily bread and butter. Construction industry has been reopened to facilitate the daily wagers.

When questioned about the Indian occupied Kashmir, the minister commented that the issue has been raised at the platform of UN. PM Imran khan has fiercely advocated peace in Indian occupied Kashmir and that Pakistan stands in solidarity with its Kashmiri brotherhood.
Lastly, the minister also expressed his commitment to the cause of transforming his ministry. He declared that the information ministry’s goal is to enhance and add to the positive image of the country and protect national interests.
