The appointment is made to fill he vacant seat of chairperson FBR after Shabbar Zaidi went on leave for indefinite time period.  Many speculations  were circulating among the top officials and senior members of the broad about Shabbar Zaidi’s leave  deemed as his resignation as revenue collecting organization.

Shabbar Zaidi’s controversial leave

The former FBR chairman Shabbar Zaidi seemed to be more active in his job and wished to bring gigantic changes  ranging from low level employees to restructuring the whole organisation of more than 25,000 people working in the organization.  Shabbar Zaidi was also active in  documenting the undocumented economy of Pakistan. For this purpose, he  initiated campaign and set a range  for shopping and any one who  spends more than 50,000  will have to show sources of income.

Howebver, Mr. Shabbar Zaidi went on leave for indefinite time period in February which generated many rumors and speculation saying that Shabbar Zaidi had differences with top government and bureaucrat officials which made him later to resign from the senior most post of the FBR.

Challenges for Nausheen javed as FBR chairperson:

Nausheen Javed is grade 22 officer and senior most bureaucrat  in FBR. She is the forth  in row chairperson  FBR in past 20 months. This  frequent change in the top position of the organisation has made the  tax collecting institution fragile for adequate policies pertaining to tax.  The major challenge to new chairman FBR includes the increase in the revenue generation in the country. Similarly, restructuring the FBR is also a gigantic challenge for her as the organisation needs improvement for its functions and operations to work impartially.
