Pakistan becomes first South Asian country ranked as 4G regulator

Pakistan recently has been given the status of Fourth Generation Regulator (4G) by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Out of 38 countries in the Asia _ Pacific region , only 8% of the states have achieved this status .
According to ITU report , ” Pakistan scored 88 out of 100 that means that Pakistan’s ICT regulations are in line with economics and social policy.

Talking about the global ranking Pakistan has been considered as the 48th country to achieve 4G regulator, and the only country in south Asia to reach this status. Pakistan is also among the top five other countries and the list includes Singapore, Japan , Australia and Malaysia.
According to the reports Pakistan scored 27 out of 28 for the competitive framework. The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority is constantly competing to protect the interest of consumers and promote public private partnership under the new International benchmark in view of the digital transformation and socio_ economic benefits in Pakistan.
