MPTH’s Ayeza Khan reacts hooting over ”do takkay ki aura” at airport
News spreads fast online, sometimes without confirmation from the concerned and involved parties. Bloggers and pages reshare the news, at times exaggerating it unreasonably. Yesterday, a tweet from a singer Ahmed Butt started doing rounds on social media in which he claimed that he saw a group of men calling Ayeza khan ‘a do takkay ki aurat’, a dialogue from the famous drama Mery paas tum ho, while he was at the airport.
Soon after all the bloggers began to share his tweet and gave their two cents on their pages, but one Madiha Irfan, confirmed it from Ayeza khan herself before reposting the singer’s tweet. Ayeza and her husband Danish Taimoor denied the same and stated that no such incident took place. Ayeza khan also shared her views on her Instagram story in which she said that she is a very loved and respected female celebrity artist and the public adored her in the role of Mehwish in MPTH.

She also added that it was very irresponsible of all the bloggers to reshare the tweet without her confirmation. The actress also appreciated the blogger Madiha Irfan for confirming the news from her in the first instance and letting her know about the same.

Generally, the public has an appetite to know especially about the life of celebrities and in today’s time and age of social media, internet is the main source of information for people. Irresponsible journalism can be dangerous, because a misinformed person is worse than an uninformed one. Confirmation before covering a story from relevant parties is a must for all the journalists and bloggers to avoid false rumors and misleading information.
Celebrities are entertainers for masses but they are entitled to respect and privacy as well. They should be given a chance to explain their side of the story as well.
