More than 3000 Sukkur Pepsi Factory workers on work despite Corona
The beverage factory in Sukkur has thrown away the orders of Sindh government of closing retailers, agencies and vendors. Pepsi factory is running its business and is also supplying the vendors and whole sale dealers. According to details approximately Sukkur Pepsi co has 2000 workers who are working in the plant without any care and without taking precautionary measures.
The Sukkur Pepsi beverages factory is only at a distance of 500 meters only from the Sukkur quarantine center.
This has not only increased the danger and sensitivity of the spread of already uncontrolled virus. The Pepsi Co. Sukkur supplies its trucks teeming soft drinks to the Sukkur , Khairpur, Nawabshah Division, Larkana division and Rahimyar khan division. The continuity of the business of Pepsi Co and the involvement of more than 2000 workers could cause a severe threat to the masses who are already scared of the spread of the lethal virus.
The Sukkur Pepsi co has over thrown the government of Sindh Orders to close the business and avoid mass gathering and work.
The severity of the working of more than 3000 workers could lead to severe consequence of its exponential increase in the Corona virus in Sindh and could cause panic among masses,
The government of Sindh had already issues notification of close of businesses except medical pharmaceuticals, grocery and Vegetable markets only during the day time till 5 PM in Sindh.
The workers also felt pressure and threat of their jobs if they adopt self-quarantine amid the corona virus spread. The Sukkur beverages has also issues notification to pressurize workers and distributors and whole sale dealers to open the shops for business.
The Sukkur beverages agency is owned by influential politician of PTI Ghotki former MPA Nadar Akmal Laghari. He joined Pakistan Tahreek I Insaf (PTI) in 2010 and has remained President of Pakistan Threek-i-Insaf for Sindh Chapter.
The government of Sindh has remarkably been taking severe actions and ensuring safety o public against corona virus. Therefore, it is the responsibility of Sukkur District Management and the government of Sindh to ask Sukkur. Pepsi Co close its factory and cooperate with government to fight against covid-19.
The corona virus cases increased to 892 in Pakistan today.
