Is Aurat March a symbol of pride or shame?
Aurat March is basically an ideology to speak about the rights of women who cannot speak for themselves in general by calling out loud the fundamental rights of women, which everybody knows is the right to study,to marry by her choice, right not to get harassed, right to freedom of speech, right of inheritance and other very basic rights that are so mere in general but have created a fuss in society but the question is why created fuss?
There had been some activities in Aurat March 2019 that has bombarded people with questions that Is this the real ideology behind this campaign? Is this what women of Pakistan are asking for? women in Aurat March previously had used some slogans that were so outrageous and agonizing that put every common citizen of Pakistan in question, it resulted in allocation of people in different groups, some are considerably supporting Aurat March, some are ultimately against them and then there are few people who thinks that if they remove few of the slogans from their March it will get better.
SLOGANS like ( Mera Jism Meri Marzi), ( Khana Khud Garam Karlo),( Choty Mere Kapry ni Tumhari Soch Hai).
Aurat March 2020 has become spice of TRP for few groups and blood in eyes for remainings.
Recently what happened in a news channel live transmission between khalil ur Rehman( The writer) and marvi Sermad ( the activist) is no unfamilar spice to anybody, This issue has put the whole nation into an abnormal pattern and everybody is fighting on social media giving their unrequired opinions and adding massive fuss into it.
Another giant issue circulating through out the media is the controversial slogan” Mera Jism Meri Marzi” and its several meanings given by different feminists and media figures, some are calling it as a protection against harrassment, acids attacks, child marriage, child abuse etc and some are calling it as an agenda dragged out all the way from American to Pakistan in order to spoil the friendly environment and peace.
Aurat March 2020 glimpses
It is celebrated Across Pakistan. The main rally was held at National Press Club Islamabad. The leaders of the Aurat March said that they had no funding from any other sources. They have stood for the rights of the women in the country. Aurat March is not bad when it comes to the protection and claiming of rights but this movement shall not destroy the peace of the society and does not promote such slogans which have so many controversial meanings itself and we should not Promote the ideology of extremist because everything which is in extra amount creates ado, we should respect each other’s opinions and provide room for criticism either positive or negative and should not be yelling on media and making a bad image of our nation in front of other countries, At the end the most important part is we should never forget that our state is Islamic in nature and we cannot promote the ideas which in unfit in our society and slogans that are disrespectful and disturbing in its nature,
