Imran Khan’s prejudice with PPP makes him ruler, not a leader

IMRAN kHAN

Amidst the coronavirus  spread in Pakistan, there are few things that have generated as not before after the 2018 general elections. After the cases of coronavirus  increased in Pakistan, prime minister Imran Khan had reacted passively to contain the coronavius in the country. Despite he could take proactive measures and direct the concerned authorities, he shrugged off  to play active role, and said that it is the matter of provinces to contain the coronavirus in the country.

Similarly, there are several unavoidable statements and policy directions that not only show Prime minister’s prejudice with Sindh government, but also has generated controversy over the federation and has debilitated the spirit of being united amidst this mayhem of coronavirus.

Imran Khan downplayed CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah’s suggestion for lock down:

This was the first time  that the  CMs from fou provices were called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on March 13. During the meeting prime miniter Imran Khan  discussed the situation of coronavirus and also sought suggestions from the chief executive of provinces. CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah suggested Imran Khan for  strict lock down in the country as a practiced treatment globally against coronavirus, but prime minister did not agree  with chief minister Sindh. Interestingly, Sindh government kept working on ground and Sindh government was the first provincial government in Pakistan that announced closure of educational institutions on March 2 amidst the coronavirus. However, Murad Ali Shah increased the intensity of lock social distancing y requesting people in Province and the masses in Sindh also supported the stand of CM Sindh and they anticipated the same.

Imran Khan’s first address to nation on March 17, but did not mention Sindh’s efforts:

Till evening of March 17, Pakistan had total  237 cases, among the cases majority of cases reportedly 178 cases were in Sindh, while Punjab had only 25 cases till then and Baluchistan had reported only 17 cases. Prime minister Imran Khan addressed the nation first time amidst coronavirus. In his 20 minutes address to nation, he lauded effortes of Baluchstan government which actually had done nothing rather they mismanaged the situation by allowing people coming Iran Iran via Taftan border in Baluchistan. PM lauded unjustly for Baluchistan but never uttered any single word for the efforts of CM Sindh who was actively engaged in meetings with all stake holders and was trying to contain the coronavirus in the province.

During the days CM Sindh also wrote federal governemnt for necessary help for medical equipment , but the efforts were declined by the federal government. The same situation went on when Prime miniter Imran Khan addressed the antion second time amid coronavirus on March 22 in which he reiterated the same as  in his first and did not even lauded the efforts or made even a single statement for Sindh government. This sense of prejudice was felt largely among the people of levels, even PM Khan was severely criticized for his unjust attitude who did not think beyond party politics, although it was high time for Imran Khan to emerge as a national leader, but he outrageouly lost the chance.

Imran Khan criticized Lock down announced by Sindh government on March 24:

The initial lock down was enforced by CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah in the province which the prime minister himself as well  his cabinet members criticized the decision by Sindh government. Meanwhile,  the stand taken by CM Sindh was highly appreciated and lauded by media, senior analysts, independent researches and mainly by the nation across Pakistan. Reportedly, PM Imran Khan felt insecurity about the good governance by Sindh government and he publicly opposed Sindh government for the lock down despite enforcing lock down was giving better results to contain coronavirus in the province and this was practice used by China and South Korea which became successful in hampering spread of coronavirus.

Imran Khan asked cabinet ministers to criticize Sindh government

In the meeting with cabinet in Islamabad, PM Imran Khan tasked the federal ministers to critise CM Sindh,  Sindh government to lessen their publicity over good governance tackling cronavirus. Media reports and  senior anchorperson and analyst Rauf Klasra also told the inside story that PM tasked the ministers to critise Sindh government. This sense of insecurity and  prejudice amid  lethal virus spread makes him ruler and this does not show his charisma of being a national leader. He only represents a specific class of  a society like a ruler.

PM visited three provinces but not Sindh amid coronavirus shows his unjust attitude towards people in Sindh

Since the outbreak of coronavirus in Sindh, PM Imran Khan has not visited Sindh, while he has been addressing provincial cabinet in Punjab, KPK, and Baluchistan as well. This  has also given a bad impression about PM Imran Khan and has disappointed Sindh massive.

Ahsas Program discrimination in Sindh:

According to latest reports more than 10  million people in Sindh have been deprived of the  coronavirus relief fund initiated under Ahsas Program by PTI government. This basically made the situation worse for the people suffering in Sindh.

This depicts that Imran Khan;s prejudice with PPP has not only impacted the people in Sindh, but has also caused the corona virus cases increased due to latest decision of easing lock down on April 15 by federal government.

Chairman PPP @BBhuttoZardari did not criticise PM Imran Khan or federal govt during his exclusive interview on Geo News. He said we need to fight #COVID2019 together. Imran Khan has failed to prove himself a national leader  as he has been doing politics only in this worst situation of lethal virus mayhem. Nothing else, but Imran Khan has lost an opportunity to prove as a leader of nation. This perception is being raised for Bilawal Bhutto who is vocal advocate of saving lives  of Pakistanis and fighting against coronavirus  nationally. Bilawal has been reiterating that   the most important thing in this situation to save lives, not politics for what the PPP has been striving in the province more prudently and has shown good governance as well.

— Arfa Bhutto (@ArfaBhutto786) April 14, 2020

Senior analysts and independent journalists are of the view that Bilawal Bhutto has emerged as a national leader and after Corona is out, PPP may have sufficient space to prove as  an only national party in the country and Bilawal Bhutto as only national leader in Pakistan.
