How to combat COVID-19 in Pakistan
The world is in the middle of the deadly pandemic covid-19 in recent history. As the strain of covid-19 spreads rapidly. It now effects almost 176 countries in world wide and around 225,000 cases have been reported around the globe which have resulted nearly 25,000 deaths. Due to it’s sharp Spread World Health Organisation (WHO) declared covid-19 a global pandemic.
Firstly the Corona virus originated mainly from the city of Wuhan China where the local seafood market has reported to conduct the illegal transactions of wild animals such as snakes, bats, dogs etc. The consumption of animals by native Chinese resulted into a huge outbreak of virus which spread as faster as it could be.
By the research we get to know that Corona virus found in animals and snakes, found host in human blood too. It transmits by touching the infected person and by the vicinity when infected person is coughing and sneezing. according to a report, it takes 8 hours to clean air of the virus where an infected person has cough and sneezed.
As a neighbouring country of China, Thailand has taken solid measures too early to be safe from deadly Coronavirus(covid-19). they have imposed ban on export and import, and blocked every entry point of China. As a result Thailand has zero Corona report. But Pakistan which is 100 years behind than world and considered as third class countries, ignored this well-considerable and serious issue that’s why Corona becomes the source of fear and panic of millions in Pakistan. However, this virus came in Pakistan by a large wave of pilgrims returning from Iran who Pakistani authorities said were inadequate tested and improperly isolated.
Currently, in Pakistan only Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah is actively taking measures to deal with covid-19. Firstly, he has requested a lockdown for 3 days(March21-23) to bring stoppage in the spread of deadly virus. And ordered about closure of educational sectors till 30 May. However lockdown and closure of educational sectors bring positive outcomes and the ratio of Corona patients decreases largely.
Secondly, Syed Murad Ali Shah has launched a mobile-service to provide different nutritions to the needy people on free of cost who are affected by pandemic across Sindh. And has ensured to make surgical masks available for citizens at low prices and enacted strict laws on medical shopkeepers who sell Coronavirus commodities (Detole, Sanitizer, Masks etc) on increased prices. While CM from rest provinces Jam Kamal Khan(Balochistan), Usman Buzdar (Punjab) and Mahmood Khan (KPK) ignored this issue and still not showing any sympathy to the residents of their provinces.
As per the reports more than 3750 people have been reported with the Coronavirus in Pakistan while more than 50 have died. Although doctors and nurses have spent Sleepless nights serving the patients tirelessly but still cases are increasing steadily.
In order to protect people from being infected by the Corona virus, the WHO has provided a list of safety measures that are to be carried out by every individual. particularly the regular washing of hands and the avoidance of touching one’s face, lips, eyes etc,but due to the lacking of awareness people of pakistan are not adopting a single measure and taking it lightly.
In a nutshell, Federal and provincial governments are trying their level best to utilize available resources and provide all medical equipments and facilities on short notice. Lastly, covid-19 is putting huge pressure on Pakistan’s economic and our country is spending billions to prevent and combat it but residents and citizens are frustrating every individual effort of government that’s why our country having a gloomy picture. As a citizens it’s our obligation to follow every rule and regulation and stand with Pakistan in this critical situation to eradicate Coronavirus.
