Geo, Jang CEO Mir Shakeel ur Rahman arrested by NAB
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested the CEO of Geo TV, and Jang media group Mir Shakeel Ur Rahman on Thursday by NAB Lahore, pertaining to 54-kanal piece of land
Mir Shakil ur Rahman had appeared before NAB on Thursday to submit his respond to the bureau’s questions about the land in question. He was, then, arrested by the NAB authorities in Lahore.
According to NAB authorities, the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif allegedly leased the land to Mir Shakeel ur Rahman in 1985,

However, Mir Shakeel appeared before the NAB on MARCH, 5 and maintained to say that he had purchased the land from a private owner of the land and that he also possessed evidence of the same land.
The senior journalist Hamid Mir has tweeted that,” NAB Lahore arrested Chief Editor of Jung Group Mir Shakeel ur Rehman in Lahore it’s not a secret that why NAB arrested him ARY accusing that Nawaz Sharif gave favour to him in 1986 but forgot what Nawaz Sharif did against him in 1998”.
Talking to media, Mir shakeel said that these allegations leveled against him are baseless and similar cases have had also been accused to him, but all proved be false and were based on prejudice.
Moro over , he also maintained to say that these cases against him are baseless and have never proved to be true. He hoped that the NAB will decide the case fairly and without being under pressure of government.
