Celebrities promote social distancing to avoid COVId-19’s spread
Prevention is better than cure, especially in times when the world is under the threat of Coronavirus. Public has been warned to take all precautionary measures possible to stay safe. However, the increase in number of affectees suggests otherwise. The celebrities have also promoted social distancing campaign in Pakistan
Many celebrities have taken to social media to aware the public regarding the precautionary measures. Television actor Usman Mukhtar shared his views on the ongoing pandemic issue that he is baffled how the educated community is still attending parties, weddings and hanging out at cafes like nothing has happened. He requested the public to stay at home as much as possible so that the virus does not spread as older people are particularly susceptible to it.
Actress Maya Ali also shared her ordeal after travelling from US. She underwent tests for COVID-19 and the fortunately the reports were negative. However, she requested everyone to be cautious and posted a video where she cleaned the most touched items like sockets, stairs railing etc with disinfectant.
Mahira khan, Frieha Altaf and Ushna Khan shared stories on their Instagram accounts to avoid handshakes and adopt social distancing to avoid the outbreak of the said disease.
Last night, a picture started doing rounds on social media in which a group of ladies were seen celebrating a birthday party and one of them was Nazia Gulzar, sister of a former senator Waqar Gulzar who later on tested positive for coronavirus. The virus transfers easily at public gatherings and it is quite irresponsible of public to plan parties and get-togethers at this hour.
It will take mutual cooperation on behalf of public to fight this pandemic. Working from home, social distancing, avoiding handshakes and use of sanitizer can help prevent more cases. Let’s take into account all these precautions for a safer environment and prevention of this virus.
