Careem introduces health insurance scheme for its Captains in Pakistan
Careem, one of the most popular online transport services in Pakistan has taken an initiative to provide its captains with health incentives. The company has partnered with MIcroEnsure to provide its drivers with health insurance in Pakistan with effect from today.
Captains can avail the insurance by clicking on the insurance option and following that, they will receive a message from MicroEnsure’s officer who will guide them about the procedure.
Careem Captains will be able to avail amenities in form of hospital treatment and access to ICU, if tested positive for COVID-19’s treatment. In addition to that, it will cover disability benefits if they are indisposed due to any injury in case of an accident and are not able to work.
Zeeshan Baig, Country General Manager commented that Careem deeply cares for its employees and requested the public as well to be respectful towards the drivers as they serve to provide essential services such as transport and delivery.
Rehan Butt, Chief Executive Officer of MicroEnsure also stated that his franchise and Careem are working in collaboration to provide basic health facilities to the Careem Captains. The present difficult situation demands mutual cooperation on behalf of whole community.
Captains, if tested positive for the virus can be admitted at any registered hospital in Pakistan under the insurance scheme. In these testing and trying times, when the whole world is under the threat of a pandemic, the society should contribute for the welfare and well being of the affected.
