Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen recites Holy Quran during live show
The video of Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen reciting the Quran during an Instagram Live session went viral on social media. She recited the verses of the Holy Quran on the request of a Muslim follower.
Sushmita Sen recited a small of Quran ‘Surah Al-Asr’ on the video. The actress’s daughter also recited the verses along with her. However, in response to a question from a Pakistani fan, she informed that she intends to visit Karachi soon. Sushmita Sen added that she has visited Karachi thrice and received a lot of love in Pakistan.
“Soon I hope. I really really hope. I’ve been to Karachi three times and each time I have been received with a lot of love. It’s been a long time since I ‘ve visited,” said Sushmita Sen.
Sushmita Sen is an Indian film actress and model who was crowned Femina Miss India in 1994 and Miss Universe 1994 contest at the age of 18. Sen is the first Indian woman to win the competition and has primarily worked in Hindi films.

Sushmita pursued a career in Bollywood after becoming Miss Universe. She made her debut in the movie Dastak was in 1996. She played a victim of stalking. Sharad Kapoor played a stalker and Mukul Dev starred as a lead actor. She then appeared in the 1997 Tamil action film Ratchagan. Two years later her appearance as Rupali in David Dhawan’s movie Biwi No.1 won her the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award in 1999. Biwi No.1 was the second highest-grossing movie of 1999. The same year, she was also nominated for her role in Sirf Tum in the same category. She appeared in a dance song in the movie Fiza, in the year 2000. She also appeared alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Main Hoon Naa.

Meanwhile, The Bollywood actress is not the first celebrity to recite Holy Quran. Back in 2011, Amitabh Bachchan had reportedly tweeted about reciting Holy Quran for inner peace. He said someone recommended him to read the Muslim’s Holy Book for inner peace. The news shocked his fans living across the world.

He even shared a few verses from the Holy Quran on his Twitter account as well. In one his tweet, he wrote, ‘Correction: QURAN and not KORAN !however the book I was reading from had it as KORAN so I mentioned it so. Apologies!!.’
Reportedly, another Bollywood celebrity Anil Kapoor also praised Holy Quran.
