Attorney General Anwar Mansoor sacked, Khalid Javed is new AG

Khalid Javed Khan has been appointed as new Attorney General of Pakistan as Anwar Mansoor stepped down on Thursday.
Attorney General (AG) Anwar Mansoor khan resigns on Thursday as a surprise move following demand of his resignation by Pakistan Bar Council. The highest law officer of the country was reprimanded by judges of Supreme Court due to his remarks in Justice Faiz Isa’s case
Attorney General was asked for an apology following his comments but he decided to resign instead.
Federal Government issued a statement earlier that they respect judiciary and do not support AG’s stance in anyway.
Anwar Mansoor khan was appointed by 22nd Prime Minister Imran khan in 2018 and he held the office for a period of almost two years.

In his letterof resihnation, he said, ”I hereby resign from the position of the Attorney-General for Pakistan and request you to accept it with immediate effect. In the last year and a half, I worked to the best of my ability to serve this solemn office with honesty of purpose, and commitment to upholding the Constitution. I wish my successor the very best of success and pray that God may continue to shower His countless blessings on our motherland and nation,” Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan wrote in his resignation letter.”
Twitter is in a frenzy following Mr. Khan’s resignation and many journalists and media persons are suggesting their Many options are being considered to fill the vacant office at the moment but no name has been finalized yet own favorites to fill the office.
Moreover, Anwar Mansoor that that whatever he uttered in the Supreme Court, the government was aware about those remarks. Similarly, federal Minister of law Farogh Naseem said that Anwar Mansoor was asked by government to step down as the controversial statement made by him was not from government.
