Alarming increase of coronavirus in Sindh during last 24 hours
Chief minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah has said there is exponential surge in the corona cases in Sindh for 24 hours. He also said that the death toll has risen alarmingly in the province despite the government has taken stern measures to contain coronavirus cases in Sindh. There are 104 positive cases of coronavirus in Sindh in a single day, and the province has witnessed 6 deaths during last 24 hours giving rise to 20 percent in a single day making total tally rise to 1318, which shows deplorable situation pertaining to coronavirus spread in Sindh.
He further said that the major spread has occurred in Malir area in Karachi and Sindh government has ordered to the local administration to take stern measures ensuring social distancing, use of sterilizers, masks and avoiding gatherings of more than 2 people in area is strictly prohibited.
The CM noted that the situation regarding the curbing of the disease is deteriorating and the reason is lapses from the public’s side in following orders.
“A stricter lockdown is our need at the moment,” he added. Moreover, the province has been observing a strict lockdown since the middle of March, with the provincial government recently having extended the lockdown until April 14.
Latest updates of coronavirus cases in Pakistan:
The total cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have ballooned to 4971. Cases in Punjab are reportedly increased to 2410 followed by Sindh 1318 cases. Likewise, cases in KPK have also surged to 656, and Balochistan has reported 220 cases. GB has reported 215 cases, while coronavirus cases in Islamabad are reportedly 118. Meanwhile there are only 34 cases have been reported in AJ&K thus far.
Globally, the situation is also worsening as there are 1722308 cases have been reported, and there are 104,775 deaths have been reported globally due to covid-19. Italy including other European countries are the most vulnerable to this lethal virus.
