covid-19

As many as 23 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in last two days (Thursday and Friday) in Larkana. Out of 23, as many as  22 are members of Tabligi Jamat and one is a resident of Larkana belonging to Shaikh community. As many as 323 samples were collected three days before from Tabligi Jamat members who were isolated at Madani Mosque. This has brought the number of total positive cases to 39 in Larkana. The positive people have also been isolated in the mosque. 275 members of them have been allowed to go to their homes for which a local philanthropist Bashir Narejo has arranged six coaches for them, he told this Scribe.

The members of Task Force were busy in taking samples of other members of the Tabligi Jamat whose samples were discarded. Sources said VTM was exhausted in Larkana on Thursday but 600 fresh stock reached here today.
On the other hand, members of task force complained that Larkana Mayor has sent a list of over 40 persons, who are his relatives, near and dear ones for Corona Virus testing which is unnecessary as per approved global protocols. They said that they do not have any visible symptoms hence their testing will be wastage of public money. They said that mayor has suddenly become a doctor overnight and started demanding testing and pressurizing the task force members through higher authorities to carryout testing ignoring international protocols which must be stopped. They added that if tests are to be conducted on influence basis ignoring basic requirements then there will be no end and worst affected will be those who have been infected with this dreaded viral disease or are suspected besides creating panic among the residents.
Meanwhile, doctors of Children Hospital arranged at their own anti-bacterial spray at all the vulnerable points of the Hospital including OPD and waiting rooms. Additional Medical Superintendent Dr. Hassan Chandio said this process will continue.
